Nonsense not having a 'watermark' or for that matter a copyright symbol on an image does not invalidate or negate your copyright in any way shape or form.
Watermarks are used by pretentious people under a total misgnoma trying to show how clever they are. If they are that concenred about...
Matt remember you can always bracket on your aperture on your camera you can bracket up to 7 shots I think so set it up bracket 7 shots and take a look nothing like seeing what actually happens as distinct from theory.

Sounds good but the way the weather has been I don't think many people have been out much this last week certainly good to know stuff is around though.....when oh when is the weather going to give us a break...

I have had a few hairy landings and a couple of fly arounds one in a jumbo attempting to land at Heathrow never did find out why he aborted the landing I remember thinking I never heard the undercarriage come down and lock one in a blizzard in Aberdeen plus a couple of aborted take offs all...
Doing the sort of stuff we do Gordon I would forget about changing the camera and be looking to get a bright lens maybe the Sigma 120-300 f2.8 or something like that would maybe make for a bigger improvement in ultimate image quality which I presume is what you are looking for.

You may be disappointed I'm afraid in addition to losing 2 f-stops and degradation of image there are problems with AF and A1servo. A 2xTC isn't a good photographic solution if you intend to shoot long predominantly for the odd one off OK but don't expect super results.
Bill
SDK you will not be disappointed I threw in my 100-400 and got mine with the help of JoeT a couple of weeks ago :-
I just got a 1.4 tc but haven't tried it yet but reports are all good will give it a work out this week weather permitting.
Cheers

Here is the Lake District Weatherline
http://www.lake-district.gov.uk/weatherline
probably the best for local conditions forecast I always use it when going onto the fells.

The 100-400 is a great lens for sure but the IS will not be of any use shooting fast moving objects shutter speed is the key to that not IS if you do as recommended shoot in manual make sure you set an appropriate shutter speed first at 350mm you should be no lower than 1/350 hand held anyway...
