    Why use high ISO

The whole important idea that's needed is to explain the that there are 3 ways to affect the exposure of an image; Shutter speed, Aperture and ISO. Due to "artistic" requirements depending on what your doing you will likely not have the option of adjusting all 3. You may need a fast shutter...

    Own worst critic?

Just got a Sigma 10-20 and that providing a new curve for me. The learning never ends :)

    Own worst critic?

I think it's just a progress of learning. I think being critical is the only way we can improve. I wouldn't be finding old pictures not that good if I hadn't improved my knowledge and ability. Don't despair though guys it's nothing to do with buying a dSLR all a dSLR did was give you more...

    Own worst critic?

Having not been able to get out much with the camera lately I though I'd go back over some of my old shots and see if there would be any I could re-do or see if there were any good one I'd missed at the time I took. Going through them though I just found my self thinking "what was I doing...

    Wide angle shooting tips??

Thanks for the tips so far. Looks like I have a bit of adjusting to do from taking pic with the 18-135mm Nikon. I have noticed that size 12 feet like making an appearance :D Looking forward to the new challenge. I just need to get time to go out and give it a proper try. Fingers crossed from the...

    Wide angle shooting tips??

Just bought a Sigma 10-20 for my D80 and I got to say I'm in love with it  Taking photos with it though seems to need a totally different way of shooting. I know it's a case of getting used to seeing things from a different view point but does anyone have any suggestions or tips for...

    Original is nice.

I don't think I could put my self into any specific category as depending on what my subject is and what I feel like I wanted to do with it I sway between all three. Some come out great from the camera as they are where as some I like to go a bit more arty farty with. Don't think there's one...

    batch saving.

If you go to File>Scripts>image processor it should do what you want in there allowing you to resize images between constraints and then saving them as jpgs to one folder.

    Unscrewing a tight polarising filter?!

This has worked for me. Marigold on hand, palm on to the face of the filter and turn. Does work a treat

    Iteresting copyright / rights question

Thats what I was thinking at first as a pet couldn't argue it's privacy had been intruded upon.

    Iteresting copyright / rights question

My boss in work belives that a picture of her dog (taken on a beach she was at) by a random tog has now been used by clinton after procuring the pic from a stock photo website. Now we know if there is a person in the pic you should really ask permission. If it's a random animal then no...
