a poorly conposed image will remain a poorly conposed image no matter if its taken by a point and shoot or a £5,000 camera .
You either have an eye for composition or you do not.
In my opinion most of the images that I see on the net show little comprehension of good composition . Most folk seem...
I think the real issue here is not the quality of the course and instruction but rather how much information one can realistically assimilate in just 8x hours.
Thats a completley ridiculous charge for 1x days photography course unless it includes a 2x week Mediterranean cruise.
I think the...
interesting project. Good to see an Intervalometer included. I wish more camera manufacturers would include this simple facility. It opens up all sorts of interesting possibilities. I purchased a cheap Nikon pas coolpix s200 just for that facility.
The possibility of controlling cameras...
for that budget i'd take a look at the Fuji HS10 or HS20 .You've got it all in one camera. 720mm tele 28mm wide angle, macro , supermacro, HD video, panarama . No other camera in the world can give you all that brand new for £200 .;)

I searched for months to find a Fujifilm lenshood for my HS10 and there none to be had anywhere in the world.
I figured in the end that a 58mm lens hood from another camera in the range should fit which it did.
Some generic lens-hoods I looked at were fiddly to fit and many are not...
sounds good in theory but unfortunately there are three people in my house using the bathroom and one is my 90 year old Dad who has dementia plus 2x sucidal cats that launch themselves at any open window.
I measured the distance to the feed area today and found to my surprise it is...
no i don't tend to use the screen much at all. i've turned off the auto evf/lcd switch as well. I have difficulty seeing clearly with it in most lights.
I do tend to use it for macro though . Its great for getting impossible shots where you cannot get your eye to the evf.
Do you have an HS10...
thank you laurie for the compliment.I am seeing quite a bit of improvement since last year but it is frustrating sometimes not knowing why some images are better than others.
I can't get close enough to the camera and high enough to see through the EVF so even a tapletop tripod is no help...
I usually shoot from the bathroom window which is open. Its the only window with a decent vantage point. Unfortunately I have to hand hold reaching over the wash hand basin which is in front of the window. hence not being able to use a mono/tripod.
The siskin picture was taken outside at a...
Hi Lawrie Yes I'm sure I could although the neighbours will think I'm complete nuts
Could this help with DOF ? I'm struggling to understand how all the different settings and factors work together. its all about the exposure triangle isn't it ?
If I can increase the light on the...
