Quick update. The camera was a complete dog. AF issues, sticking shutter plus a few little issues. Tested it for a week and got in contact with MPB once I was back from my job. They sent it for repair, not economical (no surprises there!) They offered a full refund or a like for like (nothing in...
I tried a range of lenses and a metabones mk3 and mk4.
The mk4 adapter is a must have. The Mk3 was close to useless. Equally upgrading the firmware on the mk4 made a noticeable difference.
I tried:
All Canon
28mm F1.8
50mm F1.4
85mm F1.8
17-40 F4L
70-200 2.8 non IS (also with 1.4xtc mk2)...
Which Body are you using?
I have used the A7R2 for motorsport with the Mk4 metabones and it is workable. The constant AF doesn't work on the adapter properly. So will only track for the first frame. But it was fairly proficient for that frame - obviously this has the phase detection over some...
Try to ensure the camera is turned off whenever you replace lens. I found that when the body was turned on when replacing the lens sometimes it would cause this error or not communicate apertures.
Everyone thinks they will dip their toes. Almost everyone ends up buying the decent kit, even if the tube remains a cheaper alternative.
Save yourself some money and buy some of the more affordable decent kit straight out of the box.

It's a different rubber on the suction cup which doesn't leave the black mark that the standard cups sometimes leave.
If the rubber is a bit tougher and lasts longer then it would be worth going for. The standard cups can be a bit fragile in my experience!
After being lucky enough to have the use of a 400mm 2.8 for the last year i have concluded that it's very nice for the 5% of the time you need 400mm at f2.8. However the rest of the time you are just lugging around a massive lens for no reason. And it means that when you think you might have...
I always enjoyed it. I've not shot it in a few years. But it was growing. It's hardly a packed event, but it was something different and it broke up the winter months!
I would say that is fairly normal to be honest.
Images cost nothing to take, but you can't go back and re-take them. And the cost of replacing a shutter mech in cameras is cheap for a true professional.
I usually shoot 2k images per day per event (give or take)
Over 4 days at the British...
I would say nobody comes close to BSB when it comes to being up their backside.
Sweden - it's all about the jumps and fans. It has to be seen one day I think!
