    Its christmas

Sigh. My sister works in a card shop and she was putting out the christmas stock in the middle of August ... It's just wrong.

    Which ND Grad Filter?

Though I might be taking out of my backside now, as they now appear to be 84mm. I'm sure they used to be 85mm hence the "Hitech 85 ND" title. Either way they will fit the Cokin P holder.

    Which ND Grad Filter?

They do indeed, there's a 1mm difference (cokin are 84mm, Hitechs are 85mm) which makes them a "snug" fit.

    Which ND Grad Filter?

Plenty of people recommend the Hitechs, and I am one of them. They fit snuggly into the cokin holder as well.

Recession - Do I wait for prices to drop before buying? - Your Thoughts Please

Don't forget about the rise in VAT back to 17.5% in January. Doesn't make that much difference but all prices will probably rise come January.

What do you do with all your pictures?

I stream mine from the PC onto the TV in the lounge via the PS3, great for when family and friends come around. If you have a PS3, Xbox, Wii, i'd recommend tversity for streaming, works great and it's free.

    Newbie with £200

As above, I think you need to be looking second hand with your budget. Perhaps something along the lines of a 350d, theres a number of them on ebay, complete with lens for around £200 - £250. I've had one for a number of years and it's a good little camera.

    Canon 24-105 alternatives

The sigma 24-70 is a good lens, and f2.8 gives you a little extra to play with. But the 24 - 105 is never off my camera these days, such a great lens. Build quality and image quality are very good, as they should be for L glass. And also chuffed it only cost me £579 new from Warehouse express...

How many of us hate having our pictures taken?

Prefer to hide behind the lens and not in front of it. Saying that, my avatar is actually me, but an 80 x 80px shot of my eye is about my limit.

    Website basic frame

Yes, the .org TLD were specifically created for non-profit or non commerical organisations. There is nothing to stop you registering a .org but you will be giving the wrong impression if you use it. I always register the .co.uk and .com name for all the domains I purchase for myself and...

I've been asked to cover a show.

Not sure if this helps, but a few years ago I went to the Barton indoor arena. It's very dark in there, even with all the lights on. I wasn't shooting that day, but remember thinking it's pretty dark in here. As desantnik mentioned, I think you may struggle to get the shots you want.

    Hello

Just noticed the welcome thread, so thought i'd say hello. I've been using SLRs for many years, starting with the Canon EOS 1 many moons ago, before switching to DSLR a few years ago. I mainly take landscapes, but following the birth of my son last year I appear to have moved onto...
