Thanks everyone for trying to help with this. Promised an update so here it is: Luckily, we managed to find a photographer the day before we went. Had the photos back recently and we're all really pleased with them. Mum was suitably surprised and really enjoyed it.

We have a store near us called the Range (not sure if it's a national chain) but they do a wide variety of photo frames in lots of sizes (plus the inserts - think they're called appertures?) for a decent price. I've bought from there and quality seems ok. Hope this helps a little.
