I'd prefer interesting landscape images of a well known county landmark as each image will be used as the header for that county section.

As a newbie myself I would definitely recommend digital.
99% of the images I shoot are hopeless and go straight in the bin. I dread to think what the cost would be if I was using film.

I already have a Jessops 2x teleconverter. It fits ok with my Tamron 55-200mm. It does tend to hunt for focus if it gets confused. ie large areas of unbroken colour etc but seems ok if there is something solid to focus on.

Therefore the f3.5 is better than the f4, but the f5.6 is better than the f6.3.
I want to use it with a 2x teleconverter to give me a decent wildlife lens.
