I am a novice and have been told that the lower the number the better the lens. Therefore the f3.5 is better than the f4, but the f5.6 is better than the f6.3. I want to use it with a 2x teleconverter to give me a decent wildlife lens.

If you lost some weight I wouldn't need to dump any for the high jumps.

That's a surprise. I expected the Canon lens to be the best quality. What make do you recommend? Edit: I've been trawling the net looking at the Sigma 70-300 APO. It looks like really good value at £130. Looks like I might be talking to the missus.

I was actually looking at the 70-300 when I came accross the Sigma 28-300. I was just being lazy, less lens changes with the bigger range lens.:D

Can someone please help me? What is the better lens? A f3.5-6.3 or a f4-5.6. The 3.5-6.3 is a 28-300mm and the other is a 75-300mm.
