What do you use to get you to a destination?

I agree that GPS satnav is caught within the definition of communication equipment, but the key issue is "hand-held". If your portable Garmin or TomTom (or mobile phone based satnav) is attached to the vehicle by mount or cradle, then I can't see why this isn't as acceptable to use as an OEM...

    The Official Fuji X10/X20/X30/XF1/XQ1 Thread

I am looking for an X10 X20 or X30 to take on a backpacking trip and have placed a wanted ad in the classified section - but thought I may as well ask here too! Cheers.

Good value seabird cruise from Martins Haven (Pembs)

Skomer is lovely and puffins are guaranteed this time of the year. Occasionally the trip can be more exciting than usual! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-west-wales-22672780...

What's a must see or do in Wales

@Byker28i - that is an excellent write up of the South Pembrokeshire coast area. In fact it mirrors most of what we do here at the weekend - are you stalking me? You obviously enjoy your food. One more place to try - Ultra Comida deli in Narberth - has authentic tapas in the back room around...

Presenting photos with no exif data

@Raymond Lin - I like your modern take on Edward Steichen's 1904 photo of New York's Flat Iron building - see http://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/267803 - replacing the horse and carriage with a yellow cab. Obviously you were lucky that Steichen didn't strip out the exif data, and so...

    OS Maps Online on mobile

Alan, I don't know if you still have a Windows Phone, but if you do, then try GeoGPS. Free trial and about 7 quid to buy. Uses OS map tiles at 1:25000 and 1:50000 (which it fetches and caches from Bing) and provides excellent functionality. I now use it in preference to Memory Map which was on a...

    Format Festival.

I agree that the website is absolute tosh. Minimalist style over sadly-lacking apparent content. Having looked through the entire site and downloaded the event pdf I am still pretty much non the wiser. For a photography exhibition there is a complete lack of visual imagery to entice the...

Suggestions for must have / read photography books?

On the basis of the continued recommendations of both the DVD and accompanying book, "The Genius of Photography" I've just purchased both from eBay. £12 for the set of DVDs and less than a fiver for the book. Only had chance so far to quickly dip into the book, but as previously mentioned it is...
