    Soooo... got that cheap and cheerful one, and checked that my Android phone is USB OTG compatible. Still can't get the endoscope to work though. mrgubby, was that just plug and play, or did you install some kind of third-part driver on your phone?

    Understood, thank you. I could try out the turning on and off. We have around 60 boxes to check; each takes a few minutes and the actual time looking into the box is seconds only. If not, the battery sounds like a good solution. Our next round is in about 3 weeks. If I can get a setup...

    Thanks sirch, Seems to be just the thing I'm looking for. I shouldn't need more than, say, two hours of battery life to do my rounds. Hopefully it will hold up for that long. All the best - Dave
