    D3 or D700

Battery on D3 seems to last for ever in comparison to the EN-EL3e...... tbh I bought a D3 because every shot is precious and I wanted the best.

New Nikon 50/1.2G on the way?

And where are they? And how of a premium over the exisiting TC II's....about 250-250 quid more? Oh, and yes, id be more interested in those as well.....1.4G 50mm is enough for me....

    D700 quick first impression

I lost several of those on my D200\D300's - D3 has a lever that drops a shutter on the eyepiece, very convenient,

    Sensor cleaning

I wouldnt use a blower. That can just blow the dust around and not actually remove it, worse still you can actually blow dust from the sides onto the sensor... As a starting point, use a dry cleaner, I'd recommed something like Dust Aid Platinum, it actually lifts the dust out. If they are...

New Nikkors due to be announced today

But if they up the pixel count, the pixels will be smaller and have less light gathering capabilities, right? One the important reasons for buying a D700 or D3 is the low light capabilities..... I wouldnt be worried about a D700 replacement, 12MP is more than enough.

    d80-d300s

If you want really good high ISO performance you have to go Full Frame. I've had the D200 and D300 and the DX sensors, even with pro-constant f2.8-aperture glass, dont cut the mustard to be honest.
