I've got a camera with a micro SD card (Panasonic GX800) and never had to remove it. I've got a Ricoh GR3x with a normal sized card and never removed that either. I use a cable for when loading pics to PC. When done, the cable charges the camera battery.

GR3x Got about a dozen shots here. I think it's too many.

I think all toggers react/behave differently, personally I have the passive approach, offering to delete the picture before they ask. I say something like: I've just joined a pensioners camera club and they sent me out to take pictures of everyday activities in my local area. Oh that's alright...

If you're happy with 'used', you can find an ex-cherished compact for less than half that. Personably, I dislike phone camera results, and think there's no competition. But I know not everyone agrees.

I have a Canon G7X, not used it in a couple of years since getting my little Ricoh. Looks like it's dusty, but no.
