I think they are going up not down at the mo, with all of the terrible trouble in Japan. For those that don't already know, the factory making the D3s/x and working on the D700 replacement was badly affected by the tsunami and earthquakes. As far as I'm aware they haven't yet managed to resume...

The image size should be slightly smaller than your D300s, as the D700 has slightly less pixels.

Kind of set your own rules. Originally it was 365 self portraits, but a lot of us settled for one taken every day.

Switch to manual :p :lol:

@dman. I think Chris Pons will have used that combo at some point. 80-200 is supposed to be hellish sharp though :thumbs:

@cambsno. IMHO you really need to make a decision where you want to be, FX or DX. The 24-70 is the perfect mid zoom for FX/35mm. If you're not going to go for the FX sensor you'd probably find the 17-55 DX lens more useful. I'm currently stuck between the two systems and 24mm on DX is just...

I think it's widely regarded as pretty much the worst Nikon lens currently available. That makes all of us :D

Maybe because rumors of a replacement have gone away and been replaced by rumors of no replacement this year. Apparently there's an announcement due thursday, should make things more clear.

My D700 came from there, no problems. Of course not saying the bad stories aren't true, but people do like to spread bad news and keep god news quiet. Kerso definitely worth a look though whatever the weather.

I'm intrigued now, I want to see some samples from the disappointing D700/24-70 combo's. Never heard it before today, but suddenly got me thinking should I upgrade the cam body to "make the most" of my 24-70? I shoot a few cars and I can quite often read the dealer name on the numberplate when...
