Ok I think I have made up my mind! I am going to wait until the photokina event...by then I will know if there is to be any new cameras and if not I'll have two more months wage and then might just treat myself to a 5D mark iii and I must be right cos even my girlfriend agrees with me! ;)

Think the 24 mm might be slightly wide on my crop camera until I get a new FF. Anyone have experience of 17-40L or sigma equivalent?! New Sigma 50mm is very impressive but would like the weather resistance of L.

Must say I couldn't be happier with the Sigma played about with my mates Canon and his friends Sigma and stumped for Sigma. And am very happy. Bit larger but that doesn't bother me. Thanks for all the help everyone.

I was in jessops on Saturday in Edinburgh and had a look at the two Canon lenses! The 1.4 seemed good...optically the 1.8 looks good but I struggled with the build quality. Plastic mounts especially worrying.

I don't think I need any wider to be honest. I have access to a tokens 11-16 through a friend whenever I need wider so these three are my options I thinks! The 24-105 seems to come on a lot of high end cameras as kits, is this just because of the slightly larger range!?

I am on a crop...but am hoping to move to full-frame by the end of the year so had planned to start investing in ef lenses hence the L's.
