    Dying/Dead CF Card?

possibly. could be the card reader. try using image recovery software to retrieve the images. then format the card through the computer. pop it back in the camera and take some tet images, 10-15 maybe, try to download them through the card reader. if it still happens, I would say the card, but...

    Your camera history?

that's is a lot of cameras. For me, I started with a bridge camera when I was 12, was a lumix, can't remember the name. got my first dslr when I was 15, a 500d, then got a 50d, then second (still got the two, sit behind the goals at football now) and now got 2 7d bodies.

    17 - 50 mm, 2.8 lens

These lenses are designed for crop sensor dslr. I couldn't tell you how the work on FF with regards to vignetting. They might be okay, they might not. I'd suggest a 17-40mm f4 l which is great value for money. If you stretch, try get a 16-35mm f2.8 mk I

Would you buy from a 'Pro'?

I know pros who treat their gear like a child and others like it cost them pennies, same applies to amateurs I'm sure. The bottom line is, is doesn't matter if it is a pro or an amateur, it is the camera/lens condition that matters

ALWAYS clean your tripod when you've been to the beach!!

Can't agree more about the grinding noise. Never done the spa treatment, will need to give it a go

If you only could take one lens to a game??

    football would be 70-200 2.8, for rugby I'd take a 100-400

    Used camera body: £220 budget

I'd go for the 40d, had a 30d a long time ago but will be pretty dated now. the 40d for not much more offers much better performance

    oops! I made a mistake.

the yn622n triggers are fabulous, however this will be little consolation since you are spending more money

    Choosing next lens..

sounds like you can justify them both

Beginner Weekend in Bruges - What lens?

I would always try to pack a wide (10-20 or the likes) and a standard zoom (17-55, 24-70, 24-105, 18-135, 17-85 etc) so that you get a bit of zoom
