    Compact Camera Suggestion

Personally, I'd recommend the Canon powershot SX220 HS, 14x zoom, high sensitivity cmos sensor, optical IS. It's a bargain now because the 20x SX240/SX260 models replaced it at the start of this year

    NIKON P500 – P510 / CANON SX40HS / PANASONIC FZ150 / SONY HX100V – HX200V

The HX200V and HX9V the major difference is zoom power, size (because of the lens) and a few more megapixels, the image sensor is basically the same type in both cameras. The 'bridge' cameras you originally mentioned give you a huge and flexible zoom range, the handling of an SLR and some...

    NIKON P500 – P510 / CANON SX40HS / PANASONIC FZ150 / SONY HX100V – HX200V

The guy said he wants to print small or for web so the 100% quality I don't think will factor into the decision

    NIKON P500 – P510 / CANON SX40HS / PANASONIC FZ150 / SONY HX100V – HX200V

hmm..I've used the Canon SX40 HS, I can say that it definitely zooms fast because it has a dedicated USM motor - which also means it's silent which is important if you're planning to shoot movies and zoom at any time. The Nikon on the other hand doesn't use an ultrasonic type so you hear it...

    Best compact camera

Depends how compact you want to go, personally I favour the small size of the Canon powershot S100 RAW, 24mm 5x lens, Manual control, Full HD movie, fits in your pocket

24-105 vs 15-85 IQ and Sharpness!

If you need 2.8 then the Canon 17-55 f/2.8 is the way to go, and hopefully keep its value better than the third party lenses If you don't then the 15-85mm is a very good buy, after using them both, in real-world shooting they'e both excellent performers. Using the 24-70 and 24-105 on crop...

    New 5D MK3 revealed

Some worst case high ISO samples from a pre-production unit: http://www.dpreview.com/galleries/reviewsamples/albums/canon-eos-5d-mark-iii-low-light-iso-samples "This test requires extreme amplification of the blue channel (and to a lesser extent the green) relative to the red, accentuating any...

    DSLR for £300?

I'd personally recommend a 2nd hand 30D - a great camera for the 2nd hand price and if you buy from a camera dealer there should be some kind of guarantee http://www.lcegroup.co.uk/Secondhand-Search/?SHMake=Canon&SHModel=30D&SHType=&Location=&Order=Latest&View=Grid&Results=12

    What would you suggest?

I shot some surfers last year and the 100-400 L was fine for this on the 7D. In fact having a zoom was ideal because you can change the framing as they come towards you, or frame the shot as you want. I haven't used the Sigma but as others have said, it's quite heavy. Definitely get a monopod...

    Canon G1X

    Is it?

    Canon G1X

28mm @ f/2.8 with a large sensor is actually an attractive combination for my landscape and street photography. Usually I carry a 5D and a 24-105 F4L or 50mm 1.4 and that suits me fine most of the time, the only drawback to that is weight which up to this point had meant I carry the G12. I'm...

    Canon 1ds Mk11 - should I?

Personally I find the 1Ds MKII hard to recommend over your existing bodies. I've used the 1Ds MKII with the 5D and now the 60D and I can confidently say the 1Ds is the body I least use because: *It's heavy as it has the older NiMH type battery *It has the double press interface which is slower...

    Honeymoon kit advice please!

I took a 5D on my honeymoon with 16-35 and 70-200 just because that was my camera kit that I took out all the time. By the second week I concluded you just need a reasonable compact camera and took out a G series. The main goal is not for it to be a photographic adventure and it's not worth...

    Underwater Photography lens?

Agree with the last poster, personally I'd recommend a compact camera + housing solution. Something like an S95 and the waterproof case will give you manual control, close focusing, wide-angle and at a price that's the similar to buying the 10-22mm lens on its own. DSLRs and housings are a...
