Why don't you do a couple of shoots with use the first as a test then the second to get some proper shots. Just enjoy it though it's too easy to fall into the gear trap and forget why we started taking photos in first place.
if you park at the internationail train station its a fiver all day after 10am
its prob a 10 minute walk, but its mainky undercover so its not too bad.
just dont park at the airport by mistake!
I'll check that, really should have read the manual by now...it seems to struggle to focus on anything thats moving, my A700 was always fine with this..but I find the A900 i have just isnt anything like i would expect at all.
my advice on the footwear front would be if you can something, better than trainers would be advisable..its very slippery in places i nearly slipped in at west burton trying to get a bit too near the water.
i was at aysgarth and west burton this weekend and there the best i have seen them, lots of recent rain giving fantastic amounts o fwater crashing down, just be careful its very slippery in places even with good footwear on.
i have that lens, and its horrific, not sharp at all, but considering the price are you really surprised, having said that i saw someone using the sony version at btcc sneterton and that len was pin sharp......
