    Your photography pet hates

@Alan Clogwyn I have just had a look at the Quarry-scape gallery and I must say I am loving those images. They have a real old fashion film look about them.

    Your photography pet hates

Actually, I remember doing this myself in the early days of my photography, then I realised that once you have finished moving around your slider in Adobe Camera Raw you can go up to the top and take out the orange tint . . . Lesson Learned. :D This is another reason I don't like to edit...

That would depend on how you define the word "professional". In the strictest sense a professional photographer is someone whose profession is photography, i.e. gets paid to take photos. :rules: If I have a full time job as a lorry driver but I shoot weddings on the weekend in exchange for...

Holy Moley...1st wedding weekend of 2012..with pics

Thank you for looking at my workflow and making suggestions but I don't think your suggestions cover everything my workflow achieves. I have worked and reworked my workflow and I honestly don't think there is a more holistic method of post-producing my images. These are some of the things my...

    Your photography pet hates

Read through the posts, 95% of these people aren't joking. I hear this kind of snotty attitude all the time and I get bored of it. (not you, the people with the pet hates)

I have used PS for years and only started using LR the other day but my first impressions are pretty good. I think I will use a mixture of Bridge, PS, LR and Adobe RAW. The main aim is to increase my efficiency and decrease the amount of time I spending in post production. Keep up the good work...

    making a hobby a business

I think you should do whatever you want to do. If you love photography so much that you want to do it all day and everyday then maybe turning it into a profession is not such a bad idea, BUT, if you are against the idea than don't do it. Committing to a business is a massive decision to make and...

How Do you Do Orbs and Light Painting

@MWHCVT . . . I really like your light painting work. Nice job!

    Why so white?

I wouldn't recommend shooting in the RAW & JPEG mode, for obvious reasons - it's slow and consumes a lot of memory, plus, there really isn't any need. As you are at the beginning of your photography learning curve, get into the good habits, learn how to shoot in full manual (iso, shutter speed...

I think I am going to have to give lightroom a go. Thanks for the advice :)

    First time using a speedlite

And there lies the problem, as you say though - it all comes down to practice. :)

It was literally a single light LED. Hope that helps! I really like the quote under your post . . . Made me laugh. :D
