I recently bought the Tamron 150-600. Must have read every review available on all the lenses mentioned here. After careful consideration and thinking about my budget I opted for the Tamron, have been amazed with this lens, just my choice.

I think you do need to invest in another lens, a 70-200mm will give sharper pictures and you might consider a convertor as well.
