I think, under the consumer act of 1982 if you can prove its a mechanical fault and not something you have done the shop must help you! ( Which is replace it) And they can't send you to the manufactures as the sale agreement / contract was made between you and the shop! Worth a google before...

Thanks for the info It was the Sony A100 and never really took to it! Strange really but didn't feel that it felt right when using it! Played with a cannon 1000d and really liked it :) Not sure how to add photos so people can slate them ( for improvement purposes of course lol)
