All sorted now. I checked all the channels and pushed the panel on the bottom of the trigger with my thumb, and it started working again.
I think I may save up for some Pocket Wizards in the future.
Hi All,
I have a disaster yesterday when on a shoot with a mate. My wireless triggers failed me. Fortunately it was just a testing session with 2 mates of mine, so no harm done. I used my mates Nikon SB600's on TTL to get something out of the evening, but I have never run via TTL before so I...
Yeah, I didn't want to splash the cash because I won't be using the F100 for a while, but thought it would be nice to get a reasonable lens for it. Just a funny quirk of mine really.
Happy with the lens I got, great condition, dirt cheap, and just run a test against the 18-55mm I have.
Hi All,
Just picked up used AF 28-85 f3.5-4.5, and a AF 28-70 f3.5-4.5 D, for next to nothing, £60 for the pair (had to by them as a pair from a local seller and seeing as they were both around £70 ea online I didn't complain. Both in incredible nick, obvious usage signs for an older lenses...
Wow guys,
Thanks for all your comments and posts. It has been really helpful to me.
Certainly plenty to think about. I don't want to go and splash the cash about yet, I am only just getting my head around the idea of shoot film.
You've given my a lot of advise to consider whilst I...
I have had a quick look online and the write ups on the F100 are good. I had no idea he was going to give it to me. My dad never progressed to digital, either fearing computers or loving traditional method of film production.
Me, I have never really considered flim, therefore am very honest...
Hi All,
I was round at my dad's last night and we chatted about my interest in digital photography for a while. After a bit of taking the mick out of digital, "your not a real photographer unless you shoot film", all in jest I might add, he gave me his one of his film cameras a Nikon F100...
Thank you for this post, I thought it was me being thick.
I have been testing my 55-200mm lens and have been setting it at 55mm an taking a exposure reading of f5.6 and 1/160. I have set this against a stationary object and then zoomed in to 70mm, 85mm, 105mm, 135mm, 200mm. At 55-85mm my...
I live in Gloucestershire.
I've done a Google search and found a number of hire companies, including Calumet, but I am looking for some recommendations from people who have used them.
Cheers
Matt
Hi All,
Can anyone recommend a Photography Lighting Hire Company in the UK. One that is reliable with good customer service.
I am looking to hire some portable strobes for a couple of days to test out.
Matt
Hey Everyone,
Thanks for your comments.
I am finding that I need to dial about 2/3rds under to get the histogram into what I think is the correct exposure, but there is a slight difference between some of my lenses too. My 50mm f1.8 is only 1/3rd, but my 55-200 is a full stop.
It seems...
I have been testing out my D90 to check the exposure accuracy.
I have taken a series of test shots all at 1 stop increments using a 35mm f1.8 lens and at ISO 400. (note, I have also done the same with my 50mm and my 18-55mm, and seen the same type of affect happening).
2.8 @ 1/20
4.0 @...
Hiya All D90 users,
I was wondering about the exposure variance you find between your LCD screen and the downloaded image onto a computer.
I am finding that if I expose for what I see as correct exposure on the camera my image is about 1-2 3rds of stop over exposure when I get onto the...
Hiya,
I am a very keen amateur (whatever that word implies) photographer. It is my main hobby and I love creating images. I have been interested in photography for a number of years now, I took it up after becoming very overwhelmed with my career and decided I needed to take up an interest. I...
