I agree with the OP.
I do think however that the sony a7iii is an impressive piece of kit for £2k if the corrected the issue with the memory slots it would almost certainly be the most technologically advanced camera available for £2k - its making me seriously consider trying out Sony's offering.
Following recommendations here I checked eBay for a 2nd hand Tamrac and I’ve managed to pick up an expedition 4 for £15 - will see what it’s like before taking a look at Lowe pro options - thanks for the advice!
Ps I’m mainly carrying 10-24 plus kit lens and looking at getting a couple of primes
If I were them i would look at picking up an old entry level dlsr with kit lens something from the Nikon d3000 series should be achievable as it will be much more enjoyable than using a compact point and shoot
personally I wouldn’t purchase an ev outright at the moment as the depreciation on them is much higher due to the rapid rate that the technology is advancing
Personally I take a small MacBook with me as I find trying to do anything on a tablet to be frustrating - granted I haven’t yet tried the updated apps etc that are available for both iOS and Android.
Thanks Liam the more I look at the traveller pro the more I like the look of it! I suppose Manfrotto does bring a decent level of quality albeit at a price
