    Flash/indoor setup advice

Second hand SB600 shouldn't set you back too much. You'll want to get it off camera to get the full effect, depending on which camera you have it will activate the flash off camera or you can get a cheap set of triggers or a TTL cable.

    NIKON possibilities

The autofocus stops working because these old manual lenses simply don't have the capability. af is auto focus and came in in 1986 ai is automatic indexing, came in in 1977, and refers to the way the lens mounts on the camera. See the links posted above for a better explination.

AP - Doing 'FREE' reflectors again... :-)

Picked up a white balancer the other day, should prove handy once my welding glass turns up. Who says it needs to be an expensive hobby! Thank you TPers for all the bright ideas.

First lens purchase question (70-300) - Nikon D60

They do both autofocus with the D60. I have the Tamron version and think the image quality is reasonable for such a cheap lens, however have found the autofocus to be somewhat below par. Also, as has already been mentioned, the third party lenses claim to be macro when they are only 1:2...

tips for shooting my own wedding?

All you need to do is find someone to stand in as the groom and marrry your fiance and that will leave you free to snap away all day. The real bonus is you'll still be single at the end of the day.

    Jessops

Popped into Jessops in Aylesbury on Saturday for no good reason. I was admiring the empty shelves in the Nikon cabinet; no D300, no D90, no D60, just a lonely D5000. When an eager couple came in looking for a D300. Having seen the empty cabinet they asked the guy behind the counter. He says...

Thought that may be the case. I think i'll have a go at getting it apart if its heading for the bin anyway. Thanks.

    Mouldy lens.

I recently bought a Nikon ais 50 mm f2 lens from flea bay for not much money. All well and good except the seller neglected to tell me about all the mould inside the lens. So, can anyone tell me how much it might cost to get it cleaned? Or, how hard would it be to take it apart myself?
