    There must be a formula

I reckon its possible, but this is based on a couple of assumptions, first that the simple lens formula will work (should be a decent apporximation I hope), that the stated distance of 12 foot is literally where your camera can be placed (so this might be right up against the wall) buut I think...

Happened to look across at craigslist and there seems to be a hell of a lot of too-good-to-be-true listings, it just seems that ALL of them cant be scams... or are they, what does anyone think? http://london.craigslist.co.uk/pho/

ahh never saw the pc section, if a mod or someone could move the thread that'd be great :) Hmm well I was originally going to go with a dell as they have always been the cheapest for me in the past by quite a margin as well, but this time around they dont seem so good, just looked at the...

    old Nikkor lens advice ?

With the D40/X/60 you can, not so sure about D3000/5000, however, there are plenty of cheap 24mm and 28mm ai/s lenses around, I recently got a 24mm Ais for about £100, worth it in my eyes, plus then theres definately not issue when upgrading the body as non ai lenses will damage D90 and above.

D700 shutter packed in be careful buying without warranty

are you sure they are even allowed to state mean values like this, after all this means that they are expecting 50% of their units not to satisfy this figure. Wouldn't this figure be stated so that at least 95% of the units satisfy the figure, this means that they can confidently state 150000...

Would you buy a lens with dust inside?

pretty much all second hand lenses will have dust, the problem is whether it is acceptable levels of dust or not, and thats up to the sellers discretion to say whether they think it is acceptable or not unless you can see the lens for yourself before you buy. The only real affect I think the...

    Overexposing D700

Would spot metering explain this? in the first image, the animal in the centre is correctly exposed, and so happens to mean that the rest is correctly exposed since the whole image is about the same(ish) tone. In the second image, the animal in the centre is much darker than the surroundings so...
