Forgive my ignorance here, I've just looked on ebay and these go for serious cash, what is it about them that commands this price?

Bloody CSI, I spent years convincing my wife that working in the computer industry is dull and boring, then along came CSI and showed the world what its really like! :lol:

Basically its an image where the very dark bits and very light bits are still rich with detail beyond the cameras ability. A camera will normally only have details in the darks or in the lights, not both. Thats my understanding anyway :)

I'm amazed at the "So What" attitude to this, I've seen a lot of crap photos on here that have got better reviews, come on guys, give credit where it is due! This work is superb and anyone who can create images like that has talent!

Hi mate, The Nifty Fifty is a superb lens as it will freeze action due to it being sooo fast. How close are you going to be to the action, on your 400D that Nifty Fifty is realy a Nifty Eighty (Due to your Crop Factor). If you are fairly close then that Nifty Fifty should see you good...

Hi, I use one of these a lot and love it. At F1.8 the dof is literally a few inches, to get everyone in focus you will have to use a much higher Aperture. Also Ramp up your ISO to 1600 (I use 3200 on my 20D but I dont think you can unlock that option on yours, you may be able to, look in...

*lol* Thats was the first thing I checked, my issue is remembering to wind the film on :D
