Think it really is store dependent. The BSE store said 10 mile radius, whilst another Jessops were happy to pricematch an internet price, but only if there was also a bricks and mortar store to go along with the online presence.
Took this at the full 250mm. Think it's pretty clear and crisp.
Have posted in the transport forum my rather poor efforts from Lakenheath. But quite happy with the lens itself.

Ordered at 14:40 yesterday, arrived at 10:00 today.
If you are expecting a nice box, forget it. Having said that the lens was well packaged and has arrived in one piece.
Put a UV filter straight on and am about to go and try it out and about.
Bought one in Bolton and one in B.S.E. so it I guess it could be selected stores, but that's quite a distance between the two.
LN85801U is the part number. No idea on the sku code, sorry.

:) I know the feeling only too well!!! Though it would appear they are one to avoid. The other place was buyacamera, but am now unsure of those places offering excellent prices.
So any suggestions of where to buy a Canon 55-250 lens? Someone reputable would be nice too!

Delivery took a while but other than that happy with the service.
Was pretty sure I was going to buy the 55-250 lens to go with the kit lens that came with my 450D. But some have raised concerns about the plastic mounting. This has got me a little worried.
Have seen the Sigma and Tamron lenses have metal mounts and wondered if they would be a good...
