    RIP Gary Coyle

Horrendous news. I had advice from Gary via PM. Honest as the day is long. Not sure how young. Gary was but taken too soon. Best wishes for his family.

    Jpeg or RAW

Everyone here seems to be talking about shooting pitch action and I agree JPG all the way. However a long range shot of Roman Abramovich with his head in his hands in the stands where it is dark - then a slow shutter speed on RAW gives you chance of getting a shot that the papers will print.

    Canon 400 2.8 IS II v Canon 600mm 4.0 II

I was using a 600/4 earlier in the season. It was great for cele shots at the other end and nice when then ran back towards you. However the 400/2.8 is the way to go. With the 600 your field of view is too narrow and you can't get the whole goal in view at the far end.

    Import software

Tony I showed it to you when I saw you a few months ago. I did it using a network cable going from the camera in to the laptop. Once you figure that bit out you can choose on the camera to download all photos or just the one being viewed by pressing the SET button. That is on a Canon 1D4 or...

    Import software

If you have a Nikon D4 or a Canon 1Dx then you can just tether and send the images you want. On the 1Dx you can choose the SET button to transfer. So quick review, press SET on the ones you want and hey presto.
