    Beginner SKY SKY SKY!!

I'm not sure but if the sky is almost uniform in colour with no clouds, you won't see anything dramatic. Try taking the shot again at sunset with the sun coming into the corner of the image or setting on the horizon on a slightly cloudy day?

    Beginner Street Phototography

I feel that a smaller camera (not DSLR) helps a lot. Be friendly and smile if spotted and perhaps even show them your shot of the subject. I don't like sneaky shots. If you are worried of being spotted, use a slightly longer lens (50-80mm) but it won't have the same feel as a 24/30mm up close in...

the usefulness of 50mm lens on crop body

I loved the 50mm on my Nikon and felt it allowed me to get closer into candid shots on the street without stepping in too much. Great when starting. I then moved to 30mm and 24mm which I preferred but the size and weight of 50mm is amazing.

Will these lenses auto-focus on modern DSLR bodies?

Thanks, I think they might work on non-EOS bodies on MF which would be fine I guess. The 30D goes for around £300 on eBay. Is this a realistic price? My friend was more looking at £200 second-hand but again, I don't know if that's realistic as no clue with regard to Canons.

Will these lenses auto-focus on modern DSLR bodies?

Hello My friend would like to buy a new Canon DSLR but wants to know if they fit on new bodies and if yes, would they AF or MF only? Lenses are Canon FD 50mm 1.4 and 70-150 4.5. Which Canon DSLR would you recommend? I'm a Nikon-person and got no idea about Canons. Thanks!

    use of images

Having worked for charities (medium sized with substantial funding from the Lottery) for the past three years, I'm very glad I can turn my back to that sector. In my experience, most charities are run by people without the required business skills and managerial experience and don't have a...

Gambia (and Central Africa in general)

I can highly recommend the Lonely Planet guide books - you'll find most countries (even unpopular ones). The people who write the books are very experienced travelers and the information you get is priceless.

With any country you haven't visited before, read the guide! It's always good to know background information and local customs. Have fun!

    Worlds best Togs?...so Sony say!

I think they are all absolutely fantastic and tell great stories. Hugely inspiring. As for people who claim there are better shots on here - I highly doubt it.

What's the difference between AFS and AFD on Nikon lenses?

It is wrong, DX lenses work a treat on digital cameras. Perhaps you lot can elaborate what the blooming heck you mean? I put my DX on my D50 and it bloody works. Need inspiration? http://imaging.nikon.com/products/imaging/lineup/lens/af/dx/index.htm
