What about canon DPP ? Should have come with your camera, if not download it from Canon

If your going to be photo editing ideally you need an IPS screen capable of full 8 bit color,good viewing angles etc etc.
If editing is your main concern I would save up some more cash and go for a better screen.

I agree completely. I have the same issue with canon and their cr2 codec, only being available in a 32 bit variety.
You could email Nikon to see if they have one planned, you might have better luck than me as it seems canon don't give a monkies.
To be able to view RAW images/thumbnails in explorer you need to install a 64bit codec.
The only ones available to my knowledge are from ardfry http://www.ardfry.com/ but you have to pay for them when the evaluation period is up.
EDIT: it looks like the NIKON ones are not even ready yet.
Out of the box it is quite bright. 270 cdm2 if I remember right.
But if you're buying a screen like this and want to get the most out of it then a calibration device is a must.
I turned the brightness down from (59 default) to 48 to get the black level at the lowest.

I use a program called Qimage for my printing needs.
this has that option, ie you select your paper size, then select your prints, it lines them up on the paper either optimal or optimal spaced ( space round each print ) you can also have each print a different size...
So if you logg off from your user account, logg on as the admin, install the huey software, run the calibration, it still doesnt save out profile to C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color?
