Local Boxing - Colour & WB Under Poor Lighting Issues

The problem with auto white balance is that the ceiling lights with be flouresent tubes which will cast an awful colour cast which the auto function may not pick up, so it would be better to use the flouresent white balance in this instance. But, the problem with setting the white balance to...

Using Clear Perspex Sheet on Seamless?

Hi All, I was just wondering if anyone could advise if this would work. I have seen lots of video clips on using white perspex board on white seamless to get that reflection of the subject, but I was wondering whether clear perspex sheet would achieve the same result, and also with it...

    Creative live

I watched Zack's workshops and bought the 'Foundations of a Working Photographer'. I found Zack's approach brilliant, I learnt a lot. I paid the $99 or about £63, i'm not sure I would have paid the $149 unless I had seen it first. I see he has one on Studio Lighting etc. Has anyone seen this, is...

Lencarta Safari Portable Light - Reccomendation?

Hiya, What would you reccomend then as an additional support mechanism. I have thought about the nice thin softboxes to replace the octabox for outdoor use, but I am weighing up my options with research before making any purchases. Basically, in the end I want a portable system that allows...

Hi Micheal, Thank you for your comments and advise. I use my speedlights with my smaller modifiers i.e 28" softbox, but when I need a more full body coverage I am using my 60" umbrella but finding limits to the time of day I can shoot in. I am wanting something with more power that means I can...

Nikon D700 official owners/users thread, anything related to the D700

My D700 arrived this morning and I am so pleased with it so far. I've moved from DX to FX and only after half a day I can't work out why I didn't do it sooner.

Nikon D700 official owners/users thread, anything related to the D700

    Nikon 50mm AF-S 1.4g - Autofocus Issue - Advise Needed

All resolved. Cleaned the contacts, took it out for a few hours photo walk, and no trouble at all. Not the fastest focusing lens but it is focusing nicely, the focusing ring is turning freely. Job done.

I've given the contacts a good clean on the camera and lens and so far so good. Not 100% convinced that has resolved it though.
