    Broken 24-105L , advice?

That's what I was hoping someone would say. I tried using DoF preview button and it's only sticky at high apertures (although it still makes a noise when trying to AF at F4). It also seems worse at longer focal lengths, so if I stick to 24mm and F4 for a few shots, should be alright?

    Broken 24-105L , advice?

I rented a 17-40 when I went to New York and I wouldn't be opposed to renting again, I used a great company with great service (I forget the name), but unfortunately it's not really an option as I leave Tuesday morning.

    Broken 24-105L , advice?

Annoyingly, my 24-105 F4 has packed in the day before I'm due to go away. It's the well-known sticky aperture blades issue - you can still take pictures with it but it makes a racket when you do, I'm sure it can't be doing it any good. I've heard it's around £100 to repair, which isn't...

D600 or 5D Mark ii dilemma

5D badly built? Maybe it's because I haven't handled anything else other than XXXD series cameras but mine feels pretty robust!

    5D mk11 settings question

I have a 5D II and generally it stays in aperture priority mode, generally I only change ISO, white balance etc on a regular basis. It's worth looking at the menu settings and seeing what you prefer, but as people have said shooting in RAW will give you an unaltered file that you can edit in...

    Tips on nifty fifty.

I had one, and sold it for a 28mm f/1.8 as I found the focussing slow and noisy and it was an awkward focal length on a crop body. Now I have a full frame body, tempted to get one again but think I'll go for the f/1.4 instead for the USM. Not as good as everyone makes out, but a good second...

    All rounder for canon 40d

If it's cost, sell it all and get a compact. As said, if you get a lens with a huge range you will almost definitely be sacrificing image quality. Might as well use a compact with a good optical zoom. 70-200 too cropped for an all rounder. Paired with an 18-55 or similar = much more like it.

    Polarising filter

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hoya-77mm-Digital-Circular-Filter/dp/B000KKVFD6/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1330520322&sr=1-2 This one? Was looking at about £50 so that seems bang on. Anyone know if the prices fluctuate on amazon for filters? I don't need it for a while as I've got no major...

    Polarising filter

Prepared to pay what it takes to get a decent one, like you say no point going cheap for a poor one. I've got a Hoya filter on my 28mm for protection and had no problems with it so might stick with them. I notice they don't state slimline in any of the model names, by slimline do you just mean...

    new canon 5D mk3 pics

I make that none of those things make me want one any more than a mk2, and I really hope it brings down the price of the mk2! Wonder if the ISO performance is any better then, 22mp suggests a different sensor to the 21mp one on the mk2?

    Polarising filter

Just had a look at it and yes, hadn't realised that the outer ring sticks out as well. Feel stupid now, how else would the lens cap go on? Next question then, are there any brands that are recommended or is every one pretty much the same?

    Polarising filter

Hi, looking at adding one of these to my kit. Somewhat fortuitously, my three best lenses all have 77mm filter sizes so I only need to buy one. My question is, my Sigma 10-20 is bit different from the others, in that the front element protrudes from the glass as it's curved. Do I need an...
