    Off course your right, I was testing it with the built in flash which obviously adds the compensation which wouldn't happen when using the flash manually.

    Have you tried adjusting the flash output to see if it changes the reading or if it stays the same as this would indicate a fault with the meter

    There is another thread just started where someone has the opposite problem with a 308s were everything is overexposed. One more thing to try is check there is no exposure comp dialed in on the camera.

    Is the meter set at 1/3 stops and is it set in flash mode? not sure what you mean by meter is in manual mode.

    +1 for the Tamron as good as the Nikon from 70-200 but better from 200-300. Also agree with Demilion VR is pretty useless for sport.
