I have never tried sigma but canon's 1.4 is excellent.
Someone mentioned AF hunting , must have been bad copy of the lens , mine has never done that. And as 60221654 mentioned its great for video as well.
Hello Gents and Ladies of TP
Been looking for flash set-up for a while now and still haven't come up with perfect solution so I though I'l ask nice people of TP to help me out regarding my cheap-ish flash set-up.
I already have sigma dg500 super flash with ttl
I'm looking to by another two...
I agree - in that situation VC would be useful if higher ISO isn't an option and you don't have a tripod with you. Can't comment on the Sigma as I haven't used it, but reviews seem to be good.
I have non VC -why?
1st - Non VC is sharper
2nd - I don't really need IS and at these focal distances I don't see that much benefit of IS anyway
3rd - non VC is cheaper
So when I was buying Tamron 17-50(Non VC) it made more sense getting sharper cheaper lens without IS
but it's up to you...
nice video
some points i didn't like - edit @ 2:03-2:04 has that flicker were you can see spectators changing position and the same @ 2:14, just these two little bits which are not perfect - rest of the video is nice and well put together, good song choice as well
well I have both 50mm f1.4 and Tamron 17-50 f2.8 (non VC)
when I'm out and about during the day I find myself using Tamron - it's a cracking lens
but when things get darker or I'm doing portraits nothing can beat 50mm and that lovely DOF.
So I would recommend keeping 50mm and getting Tamron...
Hello everyone.
I would say I'm pretty noobish/average at photography
I have used SLR cameras for around 8 years. at the moment I have canon 60d with few primes and 70-200 L F4 :suspect:
