Went to Howletts again a few weeks ago only to find that the last lion had died,(of old age), two weeks before my visit and that there was only one old tiger left.
Allegedly they are going to be transferring some of the lions from Port Lympne. There were doing a lot of work to the enclosures...
My first significant lens was my first bit of L glass from Canon. It was the 300mm F4 prime with IS. My first IS lens in fact.
Despite having higher res camera bodies now and owning 2 out of the top ten sharpest lenses on DXO, I still think the 300mm was the sharpest lens I have ever owned...
Raw for me as well. I like to experiment from time to time and raw gives me that option.
I sometimes use the auto function in Capture One for editing "snaps" to see if it's close to what I wanted,
Cost was the main reason. That I am old dislike subscription business model for software. :)
Only slight annoyance atm is that affinity doesn't support a1 raw files yet. But I can convert to dng in capture until it does
Just moved from Lightroom to Capture One. From photoshop to affinity. Also just started dabbling with DaVinci resolve, which was probably easiest to learn as I wasn't coming from something else.
Big fan of Howletts, Went to Chessington about a month ago but didn't enjoy it much.

I'm currently selling my other camera bodies and putting the money from those towards an a1 so was after some comments from someone with first hand experience.
