When does a photo cease to be a photo and turn into CGI?

Personally don't see the issue, tools and techniques have long been used to enhance the photo to make it more visually pleasing. It's up to the artist how they want their image to finally look. It's one of the things that distinguish one photographer to another. Final look is subjective, some...

Syncing catalogue between ext hard drive and laptop

Learnt something new today... Smart previews. I finally understand its function. They allow you to edit your photos even when disconnected from the raw file source and sync up the next time you connect. Lightroom never ceases to amaze me.

Syncing catalogue between ext hard drive and laptop

I'll give that a go, it makes sense and covers the workflow that I'm intending to use. If anyone knows a reason why that won't work your comments would be helpful.

BMW Owners - Locking keys in the car question?

I have a BMW 525d and I can tell you for certain that the car will lock with the keys in the boot. I've had the misfortune of accidentally leaving the keys in the boot and closing the boot door with my luggage in the car. And yes I ended up missing the flight. :-( was a real doh! moment.

    [SOLVED] killing ambient light

My understanding is that to kill as much of the ambient light the OP should have the highest possible shutter speed (1/250). And then reduce/increase (depending if you start at 1/1 or 1/128) the flash power till the subject is exposed and the BG is black.

What does Shutter speed do in live view mode?

Yeh it makes sense now, thanks. Thanks also Alastair.

What does Shutter speed do in live view mode?

No, the frame rate is selected within the menu setting eg 24fps or 30fps. But once set your able to adjust aperture (which makes sense as just as in still photography it refers to the amount of light the lens allows in) and the ISO (which also makes sense as it adjusts the sensors sensitivity to...
