Gordon, Which of the two sites that you took photographs from gave you best results? I ask because I am thinking of going there early next week - making a detour on the way to a National Trust cottage which we are staying in for a few nights - about an hour away from Gigrin by car and we can't...
Yes. About 4 years ago, I built a "rig" to enable me to take photographs of bouncing water droplets. I used a Raspberry Pi to control a valve on an upturned water bottle to enable a single water drop from a height of about 600mm into a tray below. A second control line on the Raspberry Pi was...
Oh dear - response from going directly to Lowepro Customer services as suggested by Nikon Photographer took me back to where I started:
"As Lowepro was recently acquired by Manfrotto, all customer service is being handled by The customer services team in UK. Their details are below...
They didn't direct me anywhere - just suggested I did an internet search. I asked if they were still selling spares - and servicing - Manfrotto & Gitzo branded products and was told yes but that as they had only just taken over Lowepro, they were not offering any support other than via a...
I've just come off the telephone after ringing the number on the Lowepro.co.uk website for customer service and am both amazed and very unhappy.
The purpose of the call was to obtain a replacement chest strap (right hand side) for my Lowepro Flipside 300. I was willing to pay of course as my...
The biggest plus point for me when it comes to the Peak Design sling/strap thingy is the fact that you can remove it and fit it in seconds. Very useful - you can very quickly disconnect and keep the strap out of the way when working on a tripod for landscapes or monopod for sports.

Love it! Necessity is the mother of invention and all that - really good idea.
One of the most useful tools which I have available to me when trying out new ideas for things like this, is my home built 3D printer machine. I used it recently to make a couple of spacer pieces which I described...
I have wanted to do something similar myself - DIY Groundpod that is - to support a camera + lens which I could operate remotely from inside the house. I have plenty of 'birdies in the garden' photographs taken from a pop-up hide but nothing taken at ground level. The rob-nikon and BeccaF frying...
After watching the indoor cycling on the TV during the 'lympics, I have caught a form of what I call the "Wimbledon" bug - the thing which brings people who don't normally play tennis, out onto municipal outdoor courts during the first week of July :)
Never having been to the Velodrome in...
It may be worth going to a retailer to compare the two Lee polarisers from a handling point of view. Although the thin version is brilliant for extreme wide angle work - you need to watch for vignetting when using the 'standard' polariser on anything approaching 17mm or even 24mm in my...
Hello,
Some weeks ago, I saw an article in a magazine which was about taking images of wildlife in zoos, parks and the like with specific reference to how they were presented by photographers when shown in print. I only did a quick scan of the article which had a word or two to say about...
