    ** Beware ** dixdigital.com looks like a fraud site

If you see http://www.futureshop.ca you'll be amazed at how the websites look identical and the text on pages like about us is basically the same text with place names substituted for UK ones. I'm not from Canada but I assume Futureshop is a genuine shop whose website has been ripped off.

    Rolandtrade: safe or fraud?

If you google some of the phrases on their About Us page you will find its been lifted wholesale from another website with their name inserted at key points.

How to recover files from a formatted Hard disk?

Good news is imo when you do a quick format it just erases the file allocation tables and leaves all the files physically intact on the disk. So when this does complete you should get pretty good results.

    Flash question

Hi all, My girlfriends boss kindly gave me his old Cobra 400AF-MI flash. Unfortunately it doesn't have any instructions. While taking it out I noticed the top slides to reveal various text in the window with what I guess are three modes W N and ST. Could anyone tell me what these mean and why...

    Tamron 70-300mm

I have a Tamron 70-300 for my A200. I mostly shoot motorsport and I find I get a lot of CA especially when zoomed in. Also the AF is slow and hunts a lot, sometimes the time taken to focus is ridiculous. This is the lens I have http://www.dyxum.com/reviews/lenses/reviews.asp?IDLens=283 and it...

    Sony 18-70 replacement

Further to my previous posts it seems that my sony 18-70 which got dropped is dead, one of the teeth is missing off the focus assembly and it causes the camera not to know when to stop trying to focus. My new question is, what to replace it with? I'd like something in a similar quality/budget...

    Dropped my lens

Only in that they appear to made of 4 different metals, one silver in colour which could be just about anything I suppose, two look like brass in colour and one is almost certainly a very thin piece of copper. They have identical shape and the way the lens goes back together they have to all sit...

    Dropped my lens

So, my camera got dropped over the weekend and now by sony 18-70 kit lens is not so healthy. Initially the focus was sticking but i've managed to fix that part of the problem (cogs not in alignment). Unfortunately now when the camera powers on it doesn't appear to be able to properly tell...

    A hello and a question

Hi all, Registered today and been reading through the forums looking for tips on cameras. I am currently shooting with an old DSLR I was given for free (DImage Z3) and I am looking to get a bit more serious. I have been recommended by a friend something like a Nikon D40X as I think that is...
