    Light room CC dehaze

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I'll have to look further into this. Obviously I formed my opinion prematurely.

    Light room CC dehaze

I have that function now, but to me it seems to be only a tad different from the Clarity slider. Not as much as I had expected from people talking about it before it actually arrived. What do others think about it?

    Lightroom 6

    Works ok for me

    Lightroom 6

I just upgraded from 5.7 to 6. It required quite a bit of clicking around to find the non-CC version. I do subscribe to Photoshop on CC, but Lightroom I want to continue to own :) Anyway, in the end I found it, and purchased the upgrade, which in the end is much cheaper than the CC version. I...

    SLR's are terrible...

I cannot see the Exif either, I'm sorry. But I assume you did not take the picture in RAW, but used the camera-created jpg? If you created the jpg yourself outside the camera, using the in-camera jpg creation may also help. With so much light, a shutter time of 1/125 or 1/250 would be enough...

Really impressed with Canon these days.

It's possible, of course. Maybe the new camera just made it easier to get the results I wanted, and I succeeded because I didn't have to learn so much about it to get the results. I still take better pics with the new cam than with the old one. On a humoristic side note, I took quite a lot of...

Really impressed with Canon these days.

Andy, I have been told that Canon make their own sensors. So buying Sony sensors would leave their own sensor plants unused - which is probably economically difficult.

Unfortunately such topics often lead to some less desirable niggling and arguing. So I apologize for this posting, and precede it with the note that it is meant as purely factual, not in any way brand-related, although of course it is about brands. But I'll leave the brands out of the posting...

Any active Contax users? - Or Confessions of an addict

I had a 159 MM, in the early 80s. Was the best analog camera I ever had. Took brilliant pictures with Agfa, Fuji or Kodak films. I used mainly DIN 200, with some occasional DIN 400 material. I had it until 10 years ago, when I gave it to a friend - who replaced it a year later with a compact...

    D800 Exposure Metering

Gentlemen, thank you for the kind words which allow me to recover at least part of my self-respect ;) I'm glad I'm not the only one to whom it happened. I'm the only one though who couldn't figure it out himself, but I'll have to live with that :) Thanks again for all the help!

    D800 Exposure Metering

Your reply was spot on pookeyhead. Thanks a lot. I don't know how and when, but I had indeed bracketing enabled - doh. I've turned it off and will test tomorrow (it is nighttime here now) and will report back. I assume that I had enabled bracketing while trying to change the ISO without...

    D800 Exposure Metering

Hi Pookeyhead, thanks for responding. I've tried all three exposure modes. I noticed it first in center weighted, but it also happens in matrix mode. I can upload example pictures with pleasure - would RAW or jpg make more sense?

    D800 Exposure Metering

I keep getting the same strange results in that the camera in Shutter Speed mode suggests a value of like 1/1600 to get F8. I take the picture and immediately the values change, to something like 1/800 for F5.6. I go down to that, take another picture, and swoosh, I have to go down to 1/125 to...

    Canon v Nikon

A LesPaul sounds very different from a Strat, though, and also the playing is very different with the curved fretboard of the Strat vs. the flat one of the LesPaul (not sure I'm using the proper English term here, but you probably know what I mean) ;)

    Canon v Nikon

Whenever I see such a thread name, I also think it may be somebody just trying to create a ruckus. But I also remember how when I got back into DSLRs, I was asking myself (and all of my friends) the same question. I just didn't do it publicly in a photo forum. So, I can understand the question...
