Hi all,

This is the first time ive attempted anything like this. I am relatively new to the forums but i am a very keen togger and eager to have a play and photograph the world.

I truly believe it is a fantastic way of expressing yourself and creating something unique and different - i hope you like my photos and how i have PP'd them if at all.

Thanks for looking everyone, i will try and give a brief explanation behind the photos too but ill keep it short.

This was taken in Sharm El Sheikh, it shows resorts on a shore front of Sharks Bay - lots of accommodation there!
 
Week 2 - 'New'

I took this whilst trying to think of something that was new and exciting - this is the first thing that came into my head before i decided it was the best 'new' thing i would ever find because you never know whats in an envelope...

Great idea with the envelope. I never thought of that. I would have had a little more depth of field myself. Maybe get more of the letter box in focus and then blur out the door.
 
Yeah i think you are right, problem with it being night time, light source is a few meters away and i couldnt get the shutter speed unless i dropped my DOF :( . Ill try again with a flash and see what i come up with :)

Or use a tripod or beanbag and go for a longer shutter speed perhaps? That way you are choosing the depth of field you WANT rather than being forced to pick one.
 
Great take on the theme. I agree having a bit more of the essentials in focus would help, but it works well as it is.
 
only problem is guys, (though i do agree) my letterbox is only a few feet from the floor!

I got a gorilla pod for christmas so this is going to have to come to use now as i had to put the camera on the floor to get that shot!

Pop off the 50mm and get my 18-55 out methinks!

Week 3 - 'Style' - Quote : "Sort; type: a style of furniture."

Im unsure which i like best, but this is my house and mine and my fiancees style...

1 day old and already at the bottom of the page - its hard to get noticed on here! :)
 
I prefer the first style pic to the second... the letter idea is good... but like others said more DOF required...
 
Yeah, point taken! :)

Im going to try that Letter one again with different lighting and lens and see what i can come up with..

For me, I think the letter shot works great as it is :-)

Prefer the 1st of your 2 style shots ,colors are great & the mirror image effect looks really good .
The 2nd shot may look something more if there was a hint/spot of color in there somewhere ? But thats only my opinion & I know very little :-)

good luck with the next 49....
 
Probably prefer the first style one because they look like zoom lenses. :)
OK that's not the real reason, I mostly just find the black reflections on the front of the balls (probably you?) distracting - at first glance, they look broken. Not easy to get rid of those I know, but that's what I see anyway. :)
 
haha true.

I tried to not be in the reflection but i couldnt help it!

And the lamps are actually both hanging in my hallway :)


BTTT - i would like to see the weeks "theme" stickied to the top, because im finding it difficult to find what theme is what half of the time!!
