I feel like I really won't be renewing again in autumn. Too many things had gone wrong and lately they've jacked up the prices for self-fulfilment and the OVI junk and they just booted out decent French lab. Enough is enough.
I looked into the image file briefly and was really underwhelmed by their very out of date web 1.0 design. They had decent offers in the photography show, but I can't let my site look even worse than it is already. I am not sure Smugmug is much better, I just want to rid of the bloodsuckers and do my own.

I think I am looking at some form of wordpress solution while I still have time to implement it well before the cut off date. I.e. I need to start now; maybe even a new domain name and I can link them up in the end? I already pay for basic TSO host plan to run a beta-test site, so may as well put it to a good use. I just need to find a way to enable SSL and HTTPS. Any ideas?
I am sure I could make the core of the site with blog, but then it needs a viable gallery with trustworthy shopping cart. I imagine I would only have to upload low res images for preview saving storage space and can then print it myself (UK + EU) or order through a decent lab (US, Australia). Suggestions would be most welcome for themes, carts and galleries.
Plan B is to integrate Pixels.com shopping cart (only $30/year). I have no doubt they offer far better service and products than OVI / Zenfolio so maybe its not such a bad plan. Just can I make it look good and easy to navigate? If you have or know a successful example please share.
