OK, I know there's no escaping 'em really as they breed with little consideration and infest all the nice places, but I want to try and stay away from as many as I can. ;)

I'd like your recommendations please, for places to take my dog and cameras (digital and MF & LF film) this spring. I want to photograph flora, fauna, landscapes, seascapes, boats and planes mainly, but nothing is off the list.

I drive a Range Rover and am happy to sleep in it stealthily (windows are all blacked out), a tent (wild, not campsite) with every third or fourth day in a B&B or cheap hotel. I'm happy to tour anywhere in the UK (islands included). I'll be leaving Portsmouth and want to spend two to three weeks on the road in a big circuitous route.

I've already toured most of the UK in many trips by car, aeroplane, camper and motorhome. What I'm after is your local knowledge of those 'special' places that are unknown to most. I'll be happy to pay any landowner or farmer for stopovers on their property.

Oh! - The occasional place where there's good real ale would be nice too - I'll have my Good Beer Guide.

I should mention that I use a wheelchair, so I won't be able to climb big hills unless I can take the car up it - the RR doesn't need a road.

Thanks . . .

Thanks for all your helpful suggestions - not.

I live between Middlesbrough and Redcar and I do like quiet places. There's a beach which goes on for miles and it's one of my favourite places and I'll go there no matter what the weather so I sometimes don't see anyone else. Another favourite of mine is the local countryside and hills but these places aren't really wheelchair friendly... so I'm stuck...

Hopefully someone will come along soon at least you've given this a bump. Good luck Trevor.
