Enjoyment: My Sigma 10-20mm. Rarely comes off the camera these days...

Monetary: Cheapo extension tubes from eBay. So much fun with my 50mm f/1.8 :D
 
It would have to be the 500mm f4L IS for me. Not something you buy every day, but it's a wonderful bit of engineering and it's opened up a whole new world of photography for me, especially coupled with the 2 converter options.

Canon 200mm f/2.8. I bought one about 8 years ago to go on my EOS 100 35mm film camera. It cost about a grand then. Its been worth every penny. Its a fantastic lens and I still use it on my DSLR. Really sharp and super quick focus. It just works.
 
For me, ferry ticket to Mull. Just too many great things to photograph! Really spoilt for choice with wildlife, landscapes, sunsets etc, but makes you think what you want to keep and why.
 
Tripod. Sod all the camera gear, the tripod is the only thing I've been genuinely happy with when it comes to build, intuitive use, practicality and generally good design.
 
My handheld meter. Virtually ANY handheld meter.

Bought my first one when I was just starting out -- didn't realize how incredibly bad my exposures were before that.
 
It has to Lightroom for me. Purchased it just after it was launched and haven't looked back since. Wonderful timesaving piece of software.

Think I should also add Spyder Express Callibration, boy before that I had all sorts of colour issues.
 
My D70. Big expense at the time but well worth it.
 
Money wise, Elinchrom 600 Style x2, background stand and background cloth: £1200
3 School Proms: Total taken £5500 :woot:
Plus a number of portrait sessions.

I would say a good investment! :D Don't use the lights or background set anymore and we are thinking of selling, so if anyone interested then watch out in the classifieds. :p

Enjoyment wise, I would say my manual Pentacon 50 f1.8 M42-EOS fit. Great lens, frustrating to focus but great when you get it and lurrve the dof @ 1.8 :)
 
A pair of Solomon hiking boots which keep my feet 100% dry in all weathers. Priceless :D

My Nikon 70-200 2.8 VR, at that price it has to be! It is awesome too, and keeps me as the ladies use to say "buff" ;)
 
Would have to be the 35 F1.4, expecially after I got the 5D. I really love shallow DOF, and shooting in available light without flash. I have gotten so many pictures that I just love with this lens.

Back when I was shooting Pentax it was the 77 Limited. I still maintain that the 77 limited is the best AF short telephoto in any mount.

Nice thread. For me it is definitely the 30 square metres of Dudeck Reaction that I suspend myself from. I can now fly hands off which means more shots per flight! :D
 
Firstly my Weston Master V as my photography took a turn for the better.
Then my 30d great bit of kit
lastly my 135mm f/2.8 s/f
 
I'd say my Macro lens.. I love the world of the small.

Again, I have to agree, In some 4 or 5 months, my photography and knowledge has increased so dramatically thanks to this place. No creepy flattery, just genuine graditude to everyone. :)


Otherwise, I think the new kit bag I just bought a few weeks ago from fleabay..... big enough to carry everything, and well designed, actually feels lighter than carrying the old ones, and didnt have the lowepro/tamrac/etc pricetag, which for the size I wanted, I just couldn't justify atm :(
 
My Lowepro Minitrekker AW 100 - great bag! And has saved my back on many an occasion!

(Oh and my TPF lens cloth!!!!)
 
Love my new camera strap (TP of course) because before I would end up giving up as my neck had suck deep red marks. Now hours on end with heavy lens to problems.

:thumbs: Have to agree - a whole day with just the D70s would actually make the back of my neck swell up, so was dreading the impact the d200 would make....but no probs, the TP neoprene strap has worked wonders!

taking what I learn and advice from others and putting them into practice to produce excellent results I'm very happy with. So the investment there is time and careful thought I guess :)
 
Both been said before, but for me it has to be my ND Grads for landscape shots and secondly the wonderful advice and guidance I get from this site.

Having gone through the OU Digital Photography Course which I paid for, although it gave online tuition, it has been TPF member feedback that has really helped. :clap:
 
nothing like a bit of C&C feedback for when you get it right...and horribly wrong! :exit:
