Do you have a Local(?) furniture charity, perhaps they accept such a 'young' mattress?

FWIW though I cannot recall if their website mentioned mattresses.....I was redirected to a charity collection firm who took an old armchair and some tatty fence panels but note they charged £70 for their "bulky items collection service".

To be fair - the people that might most need a free mattress don't likely have a van/appropriate transport knocking about in the back garden. It's not the easiest thing to shift in your average Ford Fiesta. As above - I'd be trying the local charity outlets/furniture re-use shops to see if any are interested - and if not getting it collected by the council for the usual fee for disposal. There's not such a demand for second hand mattresses even if free. It's a decent gesture though to try and offer it a new home if possible.

hopefully someones coming to pick it up this evening . . for a young lady thats moving into a new flat .
