hi guys
I'm planning a flash system at the moment & got a Yongnuo RF602RF x2 plus RF600TX which is mounted on my 5D...
I'm planning to buy a S/H Sekonic L-308s Flashmate Light Meter ,but I've just learn it will not trigger the flash units by remote ...
So my question is if I get another RF600 TX trigger, will this trigger the flash units so I can get a meter reading with my Sekonic L-308s ?

Yes.

Press the test button on top of either 602TX and the Sekonic will pick up on the burst of flash and meter it.

So it don't matter how many triggers I've got then Eg two ??

Put the Sekonic on Flash mode... not flash with the "c".

Press the meter, and you have 60 seconds to manually fire your flashes... which you can do from the trigger on your camera... or even just actually fire the shutter to flash... up to you.

No offence... but did you actually read the Sekonic manual?

You don't need another trigger :)

So how can u get a meter reading from the subject eg models face & fire flashes of your camera ? Can't be in two places at the same time or am I'm missing something ??

Have the model hold the meter? Or just prop the meter on a table/chair where the subject will be, press the button on the meter to begin metering, walk to your camera and fire it. Alternatively, some triggers will let you fire the camera remotely if you've got a sync cord plugged in...don't know about the RF-602s.

Or purchase another 602tx. They aren't expensive. I think I must have about half a dozen lying around.

Its the industry standard way of doing things. Even people I know who'd run sekonic/PeeWee use this method because it gives them a spare transmitter back up.

When I used them, I velcroed it to the top of Gossen and run a short pc cable. The 600tx (current version) do not have the PC port unfortunately, so just keep it by the meter or on a cord arond your neck if your assisting and your job is taking readings.

Great input guys many thanks

Just take the transmitter off the camera. Hold the meter with one hand, and fire the trigger with the other.

Fair enough.

You've got 90 seconds after activating the meter... just press, get the model to hold it, and fire the flashes, as others have said. Definitely easier and cheaper than getting other triggers. Even set the camera's self timer to give you enough time to walk into the set and position the meter.

Hi Kris, did you see my PM?

Hi, sorry, no I didn't, I will now...

----

The reason YN took the PC plug off was that people thought it was an output socket, when it isn't and owners thought theirs was therefore broke. It's input only and cant be used as a PC camera port.
