Yes
I have the yongnuo YN560iii which I used happily on my Nikon D610 but for some reason it won’t fire on my Fuji X-H1. It’s in the right mode (manual) and the fires when pressing the button on the flash unit. But won’t fire with the shutter release…

I had a not dissimilar problem.
I had a Neewer flash transmitter, which when mounted on a Fuji XT-1 would not fire a Nissin i40 flash, it would work OK by pressing the trigger button on the transmitter but would not fire on shutter release although when mounted on an EX-2 it worked fine, although the flash mounted on the XT-1 hotshoe was fine.
I regret to say I never did solve the problem I just junked the flash trigger and went Godox for flashes and trigger and it all works fine.
I put it down to the contacts between the camera and the trigger.

Check you have mechanical shutter and not electronic shutter in use if the XH1 has that. I often use the ES and forget to change to MS when using the flash and it takes me several shots to remember

Hmm, this might be the problem! I didn’t realise flashes needed mechanical shutter to fire… I’ll give it a go when I get home. Thanks!

The center contact on the hot shoes is the trigger contact for every speedlite and camera hot shoe that I have ever run across. Make certain that this pin of the speedlite and contact on the camera hot shoe are connecting. Make certain that these two points (center contact of speedlite and hot shoe) are touching when the speedlite is being positioned on the camera hot shoe. It's quite easy for certain speedlites to catch before being pushed all the way onto the hot shoe and it may just require more care to assure that it's properly positioned before tightning the knob to seat it.. A standard pencil eraser works to buff off any dirt/corrosion of the contacts in a camera hot shoe. The Frame of the hot shoe and a metal contact along the edge of the speedlite foot makes the common connection to complete the circuit.

This may not be your problem, but it's something to try.

I’ve tried using an old vivitar flash and that doesn’t work either (which has worked on my D610). The remote trigger mounted on the hotshoe doesn’t trigger it either. If I’m not being an idiot with settings (whiz I haven’t ruled out) then maybe it’s a problem with the camera…

Problem solved!! I had to go into the flash menu and use the rear control dial to change the settings to hotshoe flash (it really wasn’t obvious that it was a changeable setting. Thanks all for input

@Tom Pinchenzo Hi, Could you please tell us in more detail how you went about your menus and buttons to change to hotshoe on your X-H1? I have this exact combination of flash and camera (Yongnuo YN560-TX remote and Fuji X-H1, and the remote fires a YN560IV flash), and my flash is not firing. This seems to be exactly the problem I am having. On my flash menu within settings it says "Sync", so I think it might work with a sync cable, but I want to use the hotshoe for firing a remote. I know for sure there is nothing wrong with either the remote or the flash, as I just take a scissors or any piece of metal and short the contact of the remote and the flash fires. Thanks for your time and help.
