I see Chinese photo gear cloner Yongnuo have just released a 35mm f2 Canon mount prime lens. Details here http://photorumors.com/2015/04/21/t...lens-for-canon-dslr-cameras-is-now-available/. Be interested to see what it's like bearing in mind the ludicrously cheap price ($122 in the US apparently). Even at £122 it might be worth a gamble on. By all accounts their 50mm f1.8 isn't too bad though I've not tried it myself. Cheers G.

Interestingly DigitalRev had a review of the cloned 50mm f/1.8 that's just hit the market. For all intensive purposes it looked utterly identical to the Canon 50mm. However, it performed noticeably poorer than the Canon. I expect this will be the same - if it gets anywhere near the IQ of the Canon 35mm f/2 (mk1) I'll be amazed (the Canon punches well above its weight as it is!).

I expect this will be the same...

Me too. Just noticed the eBay US price is $280 not the $122 that original article said. Still, will be interesting to read some reviews of it in due course. Meanwhile it's the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 that I really fancy..
