YN468 off camera TTL options?

Is there anyway to get a YN468 flash to work using TTL off camera?
I know this won't work wireless but thought it would using a shoe cord?

I have a Yongnuo FC-681 cord, and can get my YN468 to work off camera in manual mode using this, but not in TTL mode.

This is a ttl cord. So if itis connected sits in camera hotshoe and flash connected tothe other end of the cord then it is ok.

There must be a problem with it then, as it wont work in TTL mode
