Hi,

I'm new to the world of off-camera flash, and whilst it is intriguing and the potential exciting, it is also confusing and frustrating!
I've got an EOS 600D and a couple of Yongnuo YN565EX. I've got the EOS remotely triggering the flashes fine. However this works using the pop-up flash as a transmitter, so I can't use a camera mounted flash.
A bit of digging and I thought that by mounting a YN-622C on top of the camera, I could achieve the same, but effectively then have a pass-through hotshoe, so that I could mount an additional flashgun if I wanted!

Am I missing something here, because I can't get it to work at all - ETTL or manual?

Thanks
Mark

I don't have them, but have been looking into them as I want to add RF wireless to my setup.

From what you have explained, what you expected is exactly what I expected to happen. The 'master' transceiver acts as both the master sender, and a pass-through socket to the flash which is mounted on it.
I believe that instead of the 'standard' configuration with the Canon optical wireless, when you are using the YN-622c the camera 'flash' is now group A, not 'onboard'. So what settings have you given to group A? Also (and I don't know what the instructions say), was the flash on when you powered up the transceiver?

The flash should be in non-slave mode though when on the camera (which I think you have already set)
