Just found out that I'm doing a 2 day shoot at Disneyland Paris next month (:woot::woot:) and there is no way that the Lowepro Slingshot 300AW is going with me, it'll do my back in. So I'm looking for a backpack that will fit my gear and, if possible, my 17" widescreen laptop. Also it needs to be very good at spreading the weight.

The gear I need to carry in it will be:

Sony A700 body
Sony 70-200 f2.8 G
Standard zoom
Sony 50mm
Sigma 105mm
Flashgun
Sony A100 body
Battery charger + other bits + bobs
Laptop power cable

Should also meet hand luggage specs for air travel

Anyone any recommendations and/or experiences travelling photographic equipment?

Cheers.

In the Lowepro range the maximum airline size is the Computrekker AW Plus - provided you don't put anything in the front pockets or pack it above the internal dividers. It will hold a 17 in laptop. They do a similar 'rolling' model with built in wheels but it only holds a 15in laptop. I have a separate set of wheels for mine to lug it through the airport.

I don't know if something this size will be an issue carrying around all day. Obviously it weighs as much as you put in it. Mine gets fully loaded for plane travel, weighing in at 23kg. I decant stuff in to a smaller bag for daily carrying around - either a Lowepro Slingshot 200 or 300 or MiniTrekker backpack
