Yesterday in Wolverhampton 17/12/08

Hello everyone,
Does anyone have any idea what was going on in Wolverhampton yesterday? :shrug:I was on my way to see a friend when the bus I was on pulled into the bus station, and I noticed there was about 20 photographers on the top tier of the British Rail Car Park all with 400-600mm lenes.
Unfortunately I did not have any time to find out what was it was all about.
Hope someone could enlighten me.

My guess is something special on the mainline maybe Tornado but I will have a look around

Not Tornado. The locomotive will be based at the NRM, York, until at least February 2009.

Anyway, I wouldn't have thought 400-600mm lenses were typical for railway photographers. That sounds much more like the birding community to me. Perhaps there was some rare migratory bird in the area?

Mmmm. I can see the need for the 400mm and 600mm lenses to cover that story.
