I would like to get some yellow screw in filters for my OM lenses (28 f2.8 and 50 f1.8 zuiko) but am having trouble working out what ones I need and what size. Could anyone help?

My 28mm 2.8 OM in the classifieds is a 49mm filter size. is yours the same lens?

It is the same lens. I have not looked inside the lens caps but will do when I get home. I am not sure they are original anyway.

What is the best yellow filter to add pop to B&W photos?

For size - look on the inside of the lens cap. You'll usually find it marked there - works for me most of the time.

edit: beaten to it.

My 50 1.8 Zuiko is 49mm, and what are you using the yellow filter for? B+W, colour cast correction or infra red?

B&W was my plan. I hope to add a little more contrast into my photos.

In that case it doesn't particularly matter what you choose, as long as it's a fairly strong yellow. Obviously the cheaper you go the more chance there is of image degradation. Hoya, Cokin, Lee, etc would all do the job.

look on the ebay. Lots of yellow/orange filter of good makes for a few pennies; really

if I'm shooting B&W film, I tend to have a yellow filter on pretty much all the time (unless I swap for a orange/red for deeper still effects ) Currently on there is a Hoya Yellow (k2)
